I have called this the Lingerie Lace Scarf pattern in homage to the book I found the stitch pattern in – Knitting Lingerie Style by Joan McGowan-Michael. I just loved the way it looked and thought it would look beautiful in a scarf in some luscious yarn … there is no reason why you couldn’t use an alternative yarn, just remember to change your needles to suit and also that finer or heavier yarn will change the dimensions … [it’s a 6 stitch plus 1 repeat, so add or subtract in lots of six]
- 3 hanks Debbie Bliss Pure Silk DK [pictured in Navy 27013] or any DK/8 ply yarn
- pair of 4mm needles
Cast on 43 stitches.
Row 1: K1, *yo, k1, k3tog, k1, yo, k1, repeat from *.
Row 2: P1, *k5, p1, repeat from *.
Repeat rows 1 & 2 until the yarn runs out .. scarf should measure about 130cms.
Block lightly and enjoy …
(LittleFire: More photos to come of the scarfs progress as it happens…and if you have any photos of how your version turns out, we’d love to see them)
